[REVIEW] KingKong 95GT a 95mm Brushless Micro FPV Racing Quadcopter Drone

Hello, after starting FPV with my old Furibee F90 which has brushed motors, I was looking for micro FPV racer with brushless motors and I decided to get this one after some research: KingKong 95GT
Brushed micro racer drones are cheaper but brushless motors are more efficient and long life than brusheds. So after improving your flight skills with a cheap brushed quad you may be want to upgrade to a brushless one too.

Below you can see detailed info and my review about it:

KingKong 95GT a 95mm Brushless Micro FPV Racing Quadcopter Drone

(There are different receivers available (DSM2, FrSky, Flysky, Futaba, PNP), you can select the one that is compatible with your Transmitter)

WARNING!:  This is a BNF version which means Transmitter is not included in the package, you need to use your own Transmitter (need to be compatible with DSM protocol or you need to replace receiver inside the quadcopter with your own compatible receiver)

If you don't have a transmitter, I recommend take a look at this new transmitter Jumper T8SG Multi-Protocol 2.4G 10CH Transmitter with 4-in-1 RF Chip which is compatible with many receivers, so you could use it to fly many drones with different receivers like DSM2, FrSky, Flysky, Futaba, also some toy quads like Syma, Hubsan etc...

REVIEW ARTICLE

KingKong 95GT has a Micro F3 6DOF flight controller, 4-in-1 BLHeli – S 10A ESC, 1103 7800KV brushless motors, and a 800TVL camera with 25mW 16CH VTX. Important points why I decided this was closed canopy and propeller guards because I'm a beginner and I will crash many times :) So durability is important for me. There is a bad point about this: it doesn't have low voltage buzzer and no osd so we can't know when battery is low. But I will add a buzzer and share the details with you, so this is not a big problem. Without buzzer you can set a timer to be able to land before low battery.

My Experience

My first flight with this was exciting because it is very fast for me! I tried to keep it in control with small stick movements. After some training I made my flight test video. I didn't flied fast because I don't want to crash it. I used stock settings and I think stock settings are good. This was my first brushless micro FPV quad and I'm not ready for its max speed. Hope I can improve myself soon. I flied it several times inside my home too. (with some small crashes, no problem :) ). I will update my review after some more experience with it. (if I don't forget :) )

In  Conclusion:
I want to say that this may be a bit fast for beginners, but you can control it by changing settings to low rates and using small stick movements. For experts, I can't say anything but you can watch some other more experienced reviewers and decide if this quad is ok for you or not. Below you can see pros and cons list, you decide for this price is it ok for you or not.

PROS
+ 1103 7800KV high RPM Brushless motors (more efficient and durable vs brushed motors)
+ Micro F3 6DOF flight controller with Betaflight = Advanced configuration available
+ 3S battery compatible (can be more powerful with 3S battery)
+ DSHOT ready (firmware upgrade needed)
+ Closed shell, prop guards included, a good point especially for beginners
+  2mm thick Carbon fiber frame
+ Comes with good settings out of the box, good point for beginners
+ Spare props, canopy, battery straps, wires, screws
+ prop remove tool included
+ good plastic box
+ micro usb cable included

CONS (Many of them are not big problem, can be fixed with small mods)
- No charger for battery
- No buzzer (can be added with a mod, like this)
- No OSD
- camera angle can't adjustable
- To reach micro usb port need to install canopy
- no lights for orientation
- No screwdriver and hex key included in the box, you need to get suitable hex key
- You need to unscrew motors to mount prop guards
- after installing prop guards it doesn't fit in the box
- no landing gear, battery is at the bottom, so it can be damaged with a crash
- No battery holder, battery can slide with a crash
- place of the receiver is not very good
